Mia had a rough start to the day! After not sleeping well last night, she threw up two times on our way to the clinic early this morning. We are now at the two week mark with vomiting on and off. We started her back on Zofran(anti-nausea med) last week but not sure how much it is actually helping. Her oncologist thinks that this may be viral. If it continues, we will be referred to an allergist or gastroenterologist. He also thinks that she may have developed a temporary dairy intolerance. We are still waiting on her stool results also.
Everything went well with her spinal tap and IV chemo. She will start her 5 day steroids today. All of her numbers were good except for her liver enzymes. They are usually slightly elevated which is to be expected but they were very elevated today. Her doctor is thinking they might be reacting to the potential virus she has. We will take her to labcorp in 2 weeks to recheck them. If they remain elevated then they will adjust her chemo meds.
Other than that, we are looking forward to a relaxing evening with the boys and Mia, and keeping our fingers crossed for some sleep. Have a great night!

Unfortunately, Mia hasn't been feeling good for the past week and a half. What started as a stomach bug with vomiting and diarrhea is still continuing. We thought we were in the clear the past two days but then she started vomiting at 3:00am this morning and continued to about 9:00am. She must have vomited at least 8 times if not more as we lost count. We think it's related to reintroducing dairy but it could be a coincidence and we really have no clue. Unfortunately the on-call doctors at CHOP weren't much help as far as to why this is still happening. We will call her doctors at the clinic on Monday unless she starts vomiting again, and then we may have to take a trip to Philly. Luckily, she has been keeping down some water and saltines.
After speaking with our Pediatrician this morning, she decided to order a stool sample to test for various bacterial infections. Hoping it shows nothing, but it will be great to get confirmation of that because this is way out of character for her.
She returns to the clinic on Tuesday for her monthly IV chemo and a spinal tap along with starting steroids. Please say an extra prayer that this ends for her soon! Thank you!
