March 29th, 2016

Mia had an amazing Easter with our family! She was even able to celebrate with some of her cousins. Both boys were so excited to play with their cousins and have a sleepover. The boys are doing great, and Logan is pretty much recovered from the mild concussion he had from hitting his head a few weeks back.

Mia started private physical therapy this week also which is much needed. She enjoyed going there, but like any other 2 year old wanted to bring some of the toys home with her, lol! We are going to start private OT soon as well.

She had her 1st haircut today, couldn't wait to go but then was a little hesitant! She is also due back to the pediatrician to follow up on an ear infection this week. Pretty normal stuff in the life of a 2 year old, which is exactly how it should be.

We hope you had a Happy Easter!

We had a great celebration this past Sunday with our family! Mia is 1 year cancer free and doing great! Of course, we had a pink cake for her even though she wouldn't eat it! We are so blessed!!!

Mia did great at the clinic today and received her monthly IV chemo. There was no spinal tap scheduled this month. She will get one every 3 months now until she is finished with her treatments. Her doctor was happy with both her weight and blood work! We took her off the anti-nausea meds today and hopefully she can do without them. Mike confirmed that her last day of treatments will be next year around this time, March 25, 2017 to be exact! So the countdown begins!

Everyone is healthy and we are looking forward to celebrating Easter as a family! xoxo

So I think I am going to stop using the term uneventful. We were watching Mia all weekend for a fever because your cough got significantly worse. Our pediatrician started her on an antibiotic on Sunday in hopes to prevent this from turning into anything else. She is doing much better. She has also been having night terrors the past couple of nights so we are working on figuring out the best way to handle them.

Needless to say, our uneventful weekend ended early last night. The boys were fooling around and Logan fell into a dresser drawer and and busted open his forehead. He needed 3 stitches and had an x-ray to rule out a fracture being the cut was so deep. We didn't get home until 12:30 am and the poor kid woke up with a pretty severe case of pink eye. Being he was nauseous this morning, we are watching him for possible signs of a concussion but so far he's ok.

Ryan is doing well except for allergies. He feels really bad for what happened to Logan! He's been checking on him since he came home from school. Surprisingly, we have made it this far with no stitches.

Mia returns next week for her monthly IV chemo. We are also looking forward to celebrating on Sunday with her and the Grandparents as she will be 1 YEAR CANCER FREE!

Have a great week!

Mia was at the pediatrician today. She has been coughing all week and we were watching it but last night was pretty bad. She has croup but her cough is also starting to sound a little junky. We are hoping the steroid helps clear it up before it turns into something else. Her lungs were clear which is great! As long as she doesn't spike a fever we can see our local pediatrician, who we have missed terribly! BTW, Mia loves her and especially loves the pink dum dum lollipops she gets! We are really keeping our fingers crossed for an uneventful weekend! Enjoy!
