Cruising Right Along (Transplant Day +222)

Mia had a good appointment today and all of her counts looked great! She hasn't lost any weight either which is fantastic! She received 2 infusions again, IVIG (immunoglobulin G) and Pentamidine (prevents pneumonia). It was a long day, but her doctors are happy with her progress!

They also took blood to check the % of donor cells in her blood. We should get those results by the end of next week! Her biopsy and blood work to check her immune system is scheduled for the 2nd week in April.

Have a great week!

Maintaining Weight (Transplant Day +197)

Mia had a good appointment today and all of her counts looked great. Her weight is stable and her appetite and taste buds seem to be slowly returning! Today she received 2 infusions again, IVIG (immunoglobulin G) and Pentamidine (prevents pneumonia). It was a long day, but she did great!

She will be back again in 2 weeks for blood work to check the % of donor cells in her blood!

She's doing great at home! She's been getting home instruction, PT, and OT every week and enjoying it all! We are so fortunate to have such amazing and caring teachers!

We are all excited to be able to celebrate Ryan's 10th birthday tomorrow! Mia already taste tested the cupcakes and gave her stamp of approval!

We hope you have a great weekend!

Marrow Stable (Transplant Day +188)

Mia's results took a little longer to come back this time! Her bone marrow engraftment is still currently 99% donor, which means that there is still 1-2% of her own cells left. Things are stable and there is no sign of cancer which is great. She will have another bone marrow biopsy in 2 months. Her doctors are reporting that they are seeing these same numbers in kids who are further along and are still doing good. Praying this is the same for our Mia. She will go back on 2/24 for a check up and infusions. Thank you for always keeping us in your prayers.

Another Long Clinic Day (Transplant Day +166)

Mia had a good, but long appointment today! All of her counts looked great. Her weight is down 1 pound from 2 weeks ago, but that's expected being her appetite and taste buds have not returned yet from treatment. Today she received 2 infusions again, IVIG (immunoglobulin G) and Pentamidine (prevents pneumonia). It was a long day, but she did great! She vomited right before they left, but hopefully it's a reaction from one of the meds she got today.

Her body is still covered with GVHD rash and is being treated with a steroid cream daily. Her body basically feels like sand paper.

She will be back again in 2 weeks for her bone marrow biopsy! On February 6th, they will check 3 different cell lines in her marrow and blood, myeloid, total, and t-cell. We are praying for 100% donor on all 3 cell lines. They will also be checking for any leukemia cells.

Please keep prayers and positive thoughts coming as this will be a big milestone if things look good! Thank you!

5 Months Post Transplant (Transplant Day +152)

Mia had a good appointment today! All of her labs looked great, along with her weight even though she hasn't been eating much the past few days. Her blood engraftment was drawn again and now we wait the week for the results. She will go back in 2 weeks for her immunity and pneumonia prevention infusion. Besides some skin issues, everything is stable.

We are 5 months post transplant! 4 more weeks until her biopsy. Keep the prayers coming! Thank you!

4 Month Checkup (Transplant Day +124)

Mia had a great visit today! They took about 14 tubes of blood. They are testing the donor percentage in her blood and how her immune system is functioning. We should get those results back in a week. Other than that her weight is good and they were happy she looked so well. Sleeping and eating are still an issue but the appetite stimulant is helping.

Thank you for all your prayers!
